Honestly, I was here once or twice before but only purchased food for my Biship. It’s Juneteenth and we wanted to celebrate Black owned businesses. The food was amazing, the place was clean. Some of people serving out the food is a a bit slow and not as welcoming. One of the older ladies made up for that. She smiled and seemed happy we were there. We will come back!

I meet my sister for lunch. We decide on a halfway mark between Boston and New York. I stumbled across this gem on Google maps. I wasn't disappointed. The food is fantastic. The food was seasoned perfectly. The restaurant was super clean. The counter help was a little rough with no personality. The food and Sheila B the dining help was everything. The pork chops were so tender and seasoned with flavorful gravy. The mac and cheese was bomb , the honey-glazed chicken was delicious. I order almost everything on the menu. The cakes were delicious also. I'll take the 2-hour drive again really soon.

Many members of my family say and dined in. The food is delicious. The atmosphere is right, and we enjoyed ourselves. I like the hostess she was very professional

This place really has it all. A beautiful fusion between a vintage & modern appeal. Classy, quiet & an immensely welcoming environment. Much of staff — especially the server at the time — had a doting, maternal disposition that made you feel right at home. The food is incredible & evidently made with love. Especially those candied yams — WOW. My family & I thoroughly enjoyed our experience here.

During my inaugural visit to Lily's in Windsor, Connecticut, an establishment I ventured into for my first authentic soul food experience, I was immediately enveloped by an enticing aroma that promised an unforgettable culinary journey. As a Connecticut native, this was a novel venture for me, and Lily's did not disappoint. Upon arrival, the sight of a cheerful queue of patrons eagerly awaiting their turn to partake in the buffet-style offerings was a testament to the popularity of Lily's. The ambiance was strikingly inviting, with tasteful decorations that exuded a sense of warmth and homeliness. The sound of laughter from diners mingling with soulful church music in the background created a comforting and safe atmosphere, enhancing the dining experience. When it came my turn to order, despite the bustling line behind me, the staff at Lily's showcased their exceptional hospitality. Donned in gloves and hairnets for hygiene, one employee graciously guided me through the menu. Her willingness to assist, despite the pressure of a growing queue, made me feel valued and welcomed. Her enthusiasm was infectious, making the ordering process a delight rather than a daunting task. The culinary offerings were nothing short of remarkable. The fried chicken was succulent and perfectly seasoned, the collard greens were a revelation in their flavor depth, and the complimentary bread served as a wonderful accompaniment to the meal. Each dish served not only as a testament to the skill of the chefs at Lily's but also to the rich tradition of soul food. For anyone in Connecticut seeking an authentic soul food experience, Lily's in Windsor is a must-visit. The combination of delightful cuisine, warm ambiance, and exceptional service ensures that your visit will be as memorable as it was for me. Lily's is not just a meal; it's a celebration of culture and community.

Lily's Soulfood Restaurant is an excellent choice!! I thoroughly enjoyed my food and would go again and again. The food is succulent, well-cooked and seasoned. The fish is delectable with the homemade pistachio green tartar sauce. The staff is nice and respectful(we had a huge order and added a few things). I did not discern frustration or rudeness, only an accommodating disposition. The restaurant is extremely clean and well-maintained. They have decor for viewing ONLY reminiscent of an era with stoves, food mixers, pianos, family pictures etcetera throughout the restaurant of our parents and grandparents' era. This is a must-try!!

Finally came here after a lot of friends recommended it to me. The interior was super cute and cozy! The seating looked very comfortable and stylish and the atmosphere was warm. Upon entering, we were greeted by staff and the line of people were all friendly. I got the meatloaf dinner with a side of ribs and green beans and Mac & cheese. It was an absolutely delicious and satisfied the soul food craving I had. Every single person working there was kind and happy. I’ve never been to the South but this what I imagine southern hospitality is like! I felt welcomed and everything was 10/10. I can't wait to come here again and dine in next time :)

It was my son’s birthday so we went to eat dinner there. I have never been to the restaurant per se but I’ve had their food many times and it was delicious. So on this Sunday evening we decided to go sit down and have dinner. First, I loved the atmosphere. Everyone there was very pleasant. Ms Sheila seated us (hey)! I informed the cashier that it was my son’s birthday in passing and that’s why we were there. That’s all I needed to say, she greeted him and asked him if he would like some ice cream and my son said yes, Lord have mercy, during dinner someone came to ask him what ice cream he liked and he told them. After dinner, they brought him the biggest strawberry shortcake ice cream, with whipped cream and cherries on top! That made my day. They took the time to cater to him, needless to say I helped him with the ice cream. I ordered with my eyes, so I had to take a lot of food home. My kids enjoyed the fried chicken more than anything else. We had a great time. Thank you.
